Dr. Mitchell Keating

Thank you to Sen. Jerry Moran for acknowledging the real benefits of chiropractic medicine and for introducing the bipartisan Chiropractic Health Parity for Military Beneficiaries Act.

This bill would cover chiropractic services for military service members, and is important to our community, this area and the country for numerous reasons. Many returning reservists and retired service members suffer from various back and neuromusculoskeletal injuries; as chiropractors, we are specially trained and equipped to deal with these injuries, and our unique approach to care focuses on the whole body- an approach that can and does benefit our nation’s service members immensely.

The expansion of this care, as would be established under this bill, would mean that more veterans and reservists are able to reap the benefits of chiropractic care. More importantly, it also means that these men and women who have given so much of themselves for this nation are given more options for the care they need and deserve. As a chiropractor, I am grateful to Moran for his work to expand TRICARE coverage. Our veterans deserve the best treatment we can give them, and through local health care providers and strong advocates in Congress, we are ensuring this treatment is readily available.
